6 of 6Fascia – are the vertical boards on which you fix the guttering
Soffit – the Soffit boards are the ones tucked up underneath and are usual horizontal
Guttering – is an important element to any home which directs the flow of rain water away
Downpipe – is the vertical pipe that carries the rain water to a soakaway or water butt
Cap over – is covering the existing wooden fascia (old fascia must be in good condition otherwise this can be false economy)
Total removal – is the removal of the old rotten wooden fascia boards completely
Under felt trims – these are used to hold up the existing roof felt
Over fascia vents – these are vents sat onto top of the fascia allowing air flow
Box end – this is where the gable end barge board meet the fascia
Barge board – this is the term used for fascia on a gable end
These are vents sat onto top of the fascia allowing air flow, keeping your roof space dry and well-ventilated, preventing damp and condensation.
These are used to hold up the existing roof felt which is currently under the tiles, if this is not done then water from the roof will back up behind the new boards and rot either the original wooden fascia on a cap over or rot any at the end of the roof rafters causing expensive problems in the future.
Not only will our range of soffits and fascia save you time and money they will also stop you climbing that ladder with paint brush in hand. Once installed our Fascia are virtually maintenance free although keeping them clean if possible is always a great idea. Just ask your window cleaner to give them an occasional wipe with a damp cloth, keeping them looking good and maintenance free for years to come.
Available in the same colours finishes as the fascia board.
